A Little Opulence
This small (19" x 22") quilt was made for the 2008 IQA auction at Houston. I had made the turquoise and silver free-standing lace for my Opulence quilt, but did not use it. It's just been sitting around since, so I thought I'd incorporate it in this quilt. The paisleys are digitized machine embroidered appliques. All of the fabrics are silk. The quilting is hand-guided; the flowers are stitched with silver metallic thread, and the rest of the quilting is done with silk thread. Like the Opulence quilt, the central section is separate from the rest, connected only by the lace circle. I hope the bidders think this little quilt is as beautiful as I think it is, and it brings in a great price! Embroidery designs from OESD and MPZundt.
